Licking County on MARCS ?

Can you tell me when this will take place? Do you know if they will be keeping their VHF systems for backup purposes? Personally, I would like to see the whole county go to MARCS. The sooner the better.

They have applied for Grant money for 2010 fiscal year. If they get the grant; by the time they order the radios, take delivery and get everything up & installed. It could be 11/2 to 2 years before they switch. I have no idea what will happen with the VHF.

Monroe Township would probably have to keep the VHF. They still have volunteers that they page. St. Alban's Twp. also uses it. West Licking would be in a better position to abandon VHF totally (unless they wanted to keep it for mutual aid purposes), since they rely totally on full-time personnel and they're the only users of their repeater.
