Thanks to this forum and its helpful members, I have the new scanner receiving Violet Township Fire on Franklin County MECC System.
My question now is: will traffic for Violet Fire appear on all of the 11 MECC Talkgroups (plus Dispatch) or will they use only a couple of them? I am understanding a little bit more of this "trunking" stuff, but would like to refine my reception to as exclusive to Violet as I can.
Thanks again for helping a ol' timer.

You will need to add all of the MECC talk-groups. All agencies dispatched by MECC are dispatched collectively using the same talk-group plan, so they could be assigned to any of those TGs at any time by the dispatcher.

Violet Twp may also be assigned to Columbus talkgroups if they're responding as mutual aid with departments dispatched by Columbus Fire.

Ok

OK. Was hoping Truro, Violet, maybe Bexley would use just a couple talkgroups. I'm understanding this trunking stuff a little better.
Thanks

FYI - Bexley does not have a fire department. They contract with the City of Columbus.

You may also hear some MECC departments on Fairfield County Fire frequencies.

You hear them a lot on the Columbus FG TGs
