So...I'm gonna reopen this discussion again. So I've recently been able to updgrade to a 436HP and just today I've upgraded for my DMR and ProVoice capabilities. Now to work on these DMR systems.

Quick question though. Instead of using the SDR and just using the scanner. How can I find new frequencies and LCNs for towers or when doing a frequency search how do I know that it's gonna be apart of this system.

https://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=8045

Also just need to find the frequencies associated with the Bisset Creek tower. Not that I'm ever up in the area, but it'd be nice to see the database complete for this system up that way. https://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=9080

While I have no other way of confirming this information than to drive there which isn't happening, I'm gonna put this out there in case someone may be able to confirm the info within the area. I believe this would be site 2.

Bissett Creek - Call Sign VGS313 - Emission - 7K60FXEXT

Frequencies -
162.3400
162.8550

I believe this to be part of the following system.
https://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=9080

Map of Tower locations and coverage area.

https://cdn2.hubspot.net/hubfs/3583... Connect Plus VHF Network.pdf?t=1478179723518

Given that all other sites have been confirmed so far other then the other 2 frequencies for Pembroke. I think its safe to say that they go 1/2 in order.

I was able to analyze the other sites with the 436HP and it tells me Pembroke is the only site that has 4 frequencies, those have already been posted in this thread and thus could be added to the database.

I suspect a slight round-off issue with IC database. Frequency is listed to 2 decimal places, but might be 162.345 or 162.3375 which are 7.5kHz grid, and 162.34 is not. Same with the input 167.32. Someone in the vicinity should have no problem finding these and confirming.

They've fixed most of the earlier problems such as specifying frequency in scientific notation e.g. 1.6234E+08, and the TX power W v. dBW mixup .

I notice they don't provide search by licensee name anymore.

I have some info regarding some dmr systems in the Chalk River area. Seems it's a haven for some DMR activity. I'll post my findings below.

These are all licensed to Canadian Nuclear Laboratories in Chalk River. All are carrying DMR or P25 activity. Was only able to grab these from frequency searches in the 450-470 range as well as just storing some in the radio just to see what I'd hear now that I'm capable ofn listening to DMR stuff.

451.0125 - Colour 1 - No Site found - TG1 is ENC - No LIcence info found in Chalk River for this one.

452.0250 - Call Sign CHM707 - Canadian Nuclear Laboratories Ltd. - Scanner shows me I saved it as P25.
451.0875 - Colour 1 - Call Sign CHM718 Canadian Nuclear Laboratories Ltd.

451.3125 - Colour 1 TG 2 is ENC - Call Sign CHM707 - Canadian Nuclear Laboratories Ltd. - Scanner shows me I saved it as P25 mode

451.450 - Colour 1 - Call Sign CFB773 - Canadian Nuclear Laboritories Ltd. - 2 new repeaters to extend coverage

454.550 - Call Sign - CFB773- Canadian Nuclear Laboratories Ltd.
Reference Identifier 2 new repeaters to extend coverage

460.0375 - Call Sign - CIM796 - Canadian Nuclear Laboritories

460.6375 Colour 2 - CAP - Call Sign - CIM796 - Canadian Nuclear Laboritories - Sounds like Alarm Techs on TG 7

460.9375 - Colour 2 - Site 2 - Call Sign CIM796

461.2375 - Colour 2 - CAP - Call Sign - CIM796 - Canadian Nuclear Laboritories

461.8375 - Colour 1 - Call Sign - CIM796 - Canadian Nuclear Laboritories

The following all seem to be part of the same call sign - CIM796 http://tafl.mckie.ca/?query=CIM796&prov=ON
460.0375
460.3375
460.6375
460.9375
461.2375
461.5375
461.8375
462.4375

The following seem to be apart of license CHM707
(REPEATER 1)

451.0250
451.3125
451.8000

The following are a part of Licence CFB773 http://tafl.mckie.ca/?query=CFB773&prov=ON
451.4500
454.5500
2 new repeaters to extend coverage
2-slot DMR (Motorola MOTOTRBO) TDMA voice - 7K60FXEXT

Sooooo...now how do I interpret all this. Some I'm sure are portables/mobiles etc. A repeater in the mix and perhaps there's a trunk system going on here.

Help me out...I am limited to the amount of time to get these findings, but it's nice to have a good start at it.

I have these under a different site in hopes of trying to find LCN's etc...The 0's represent the LCN for now until they're found. The 2 and 1's are colour codes.

0460.037500 0 Srch
0460.337500 0 Srch
0460.637500 0 2
0461.537500 0 Srch
0461.837500 0 1
0462.437500 0 1

Am I on the right track here?

Good work on this, regret I can't do much from my location. Not too many people active up the Valley (or other places...) doing this.

Correlating LCNs with frequencies can be a challenge. I normally monitor suspected channel on a 2nd scanner, while watching DSD+ display when only one other LCN is active. That will narrow these down. People with multiple SDR dongles and/or fancier software could do better. Not sure how much if any info the DMR-capable scanner gives for active channels in the system other than the one being monitored.

Dave

Another hint, systems seem to use the same Colour Code across channels; not sure if it's a rule. Also, if you have more than one Cap+ system, each only has one Rest channel at a time though it moves around.

Looks like work is taking me to the north end of the county next week. So I'm gonna try and get some info on the bisset creek site of the county turris system. It's not like I'm ever up in this area so I'll see what I can come up with and find for info.
