FD DX last week

Interesting propagation last week, weekday evening around 1830-1900h, forget which day.

I was hearing FD radio test on a repeater 152.315 north of here at Mt.Saint-Marie Que.
I thought I heard Orillia, and something else like Rama but not quite (turned out to be
Ramara).

Repeater input is 158.295 which in TAFL was traced back to Ramara Twp. fire. Looks like about a 350km
path.

I previously heard some road operations on 152.315 but could not tell if it was local.

I have it in SDR so I must have heard activity at one time.

Interesting that TAFL says this repeater is digital (DMR), and the other VHF repeater at the site (143.520) is analog. Looks like they got it reversed.

Wed. evening around 630-730pm, heard more Ramara/Orillia fire activity on this repeater.

What you heard was correct area wise. The area goes from west to east, Orillia Fire, Rama (Mnjikaning, Chippewas of Rama First Nation) Fire and Ramara Fire.

Orillia Fire is the dispatch centre for City of Orillia, Rama, Ramara, Severn Twp, Oro-Medonte and Gravenhurst. So you will always hear Orillia Fire or "Orillia City Base" on all of those channels.
