I have a 2013 Ford F 150. I have a BCT 15X already and wanted to put in a UHF radio. But was curious if one of these Dual Band Radios would work instead of spending a fortune on a Motorola. Any thoughts? Thanks

Work in place of a mobile radio instead of purchasing an expensive Motorola mobile radio.

There are many other options than Motorola for LMR radios. I personally use Kenwood. There is also Icom, Vertex, Tait, amongst others. I have been very happy with Kenwood. Look at the TK-860HG. 128 channels and 128 zones. They can be found online for less than US$200' shipping included.

That dual band radio will not properly do 2.5KHz deviation, and is not legal outside of the ham bands.
