I finally decided that it was past time to rearrange my "ham shack" and get it better organized! It's a helter-skelter mess at the moment. Missing from this picture is my BHP436 that's on vacation in Texas for a week or so...

So, I ordered a custom built "sloped rack" to place on my desktop, where I can install my gear in a better organized fashion. I'll use the "Panel Designer" software to provide the template for custom 19" 2u rack panels to dress it up. I contacted David Tatelbaum the owner of "Rackmaster" for a quote, and was delighted by the price and placed my order from his website: http://nice-racks.com/

Just a few short weeks later, the new rack was delivered today via FedEx. As you can see, the builder packed it very well.

Here are a couple of shots of the completed rack. I've filled the rack temporarily with some random stuff I had handy just so it wouldn't be naked and empty. :) I'll post some new pictures as I add shelves and panels to the rack.

That's going to be a really nice setup. Are you going to keep the Motorolas in it? FYI: A real geek would have the HDD laying on the desk but it would still be connected :)

None of those will be in the completed rack. The CDM1550-LS rack will be going into a Gator Box along with batteries, 60' of RG8X, and an Ed Fong type antenna for a portable repeater.

I keep those two 1TB "Seagate POSs" there to remind me to never again buy Seagate drives. Both of those failed within six months after being installed in a Netgear NAS.

I do have a 2 slot BlacX docking station for any outboard HDs I need to access for some reason.
