Slowly getting radios into new to me vehicle.
Photo of initial installation of the 536, wasn't happy with it was bit far into passenger area
for my liking.

The glass mount was an experiment, awesome on the 700MHz Trunk System, okay on VHF (but not great)
seems directional.
Dug out my "odds and ends" box and found my splitter to take advantage of the am/fm whip on the vehicle.
Better VHF reception. Glass mount left in place as spare.
Moved 536 into glove box, now it's can be up out of way(when closed) with passengers on board.
Once I'm certain it's staying there will hard wire radios.

I believe that compartment where you had the 536, and now have the other radio pivots up and toward the windshield during bag deployment. I'd not put anything too heavy in there. (Built those cars at Belvidere Assembly plant when they first launched)

:Looks clear behind glove box. Any bags in there?
Glove box should be safe. Worse that will happen there is it won't collapse and absorb impact as well. It's designed to absorb knee impact.
