So not my original idea all credit goes to www.lazygranch.com but here's the perfect way to go out in the Nevada Desert with your Pro-2035 or 2042. The Ammo box is specific for PVS 14 Night Vision Goggles. The dimensions are perfect awesome. I'll use remote power and a cool Antenna for this setup. These boxes are hard to find on ebay and be careful on the sellers with a (1) rating I learned the hard way. Can't wait to go remote and try this!!

Plans

Planning on connecting a low band antenna NMOWB40B not to the case but near by on my truck or something.

I want to start doing that with some gear. A box with a battery, amped speaker and scanner for use in my work trucks.

Still kicking myself from last summer. Guy had 50-cal ammo boxes and 30-cal ammo boxes for sale - $12.50 apiece, buy 2 get one (30-cal) free. They were like new and I should have pulled the trigger then. I am hoping he is back at the Caesar's Creek Flea Market again this year. He was outside just to the right of the eastside main door.

What's the diff between the ammo canisters and the night vision goggle canister?

Very nice outfit you have there - I like it!

Ammo box

The NVG case is taller than the 30mm box and usually still has the foam. Like I said the fit is perfect for pro2035 & pro2042.

Nevada desert, huh? Are you the guy they caught lurking around the fence near Groom Lake?

Nice setup, though. Ammo cans are wonderful things. . .

I will test it, I think the only real heat source is the power supply? So by bringing in 12Vdc that’s no longer a problem.

Temp measure

Confirmed ok, I had it running on battery 12vdc for an hour with a temp meter probe into the ammo box along top of the scanner. Never got above 30' C/ 86 F so no worries.

I like your idea with the Mekita battery, very unique. The tiny voltage regulator on the radio shack probably doesn't get barely warm to the touch.
