burleson county will be switching to narrow band vhf and wideband for now and maybe into digital vhf later with only a 700 to be interop with the surrounding counties.
I just dug out my old analog scanner but can't seem to pick anything up. How successful are the new P25 compatible scanners in picking up the CSPD and Bryan PD? Are they using encryption? I'm thinking about making the investment in one of the digital scanners, but I don't want to be dissappointed.
I have a the RadioShack PRO-106 Scanner and pickup everything in the county great. CS fire/EMS/PD Bryan Fire/EMS/PD, A&M EMS, Brazos County Fire Depts, BCSO and BC Constables. Most PD channels are not encrypted.
I'm interested in listening to talkgroups on the A&M Motorola Type || Smartnet. Is this scanner compatible? Specifically I want to listen the Transit talkgroup.
Burleson county is in the process of putting in a voting repeater system and at least 1 new channel if not 2 for le, fire, and ems
Interesting... that is a statewide temporary base license. Sounds like they moved the base/repeater to a new tower for which they don't have a site-specific license yet.Noticed today that DPS Bryan changed their call sign from KKV-232 to KKM-304.
The KKV232 was cancelled back in 2012 and they are just now changing their callsign on air. I guess its better late than never I've heard the KKV232 as of a month ago.

WQPZ840 (TEXAS, STATE OF (DPS)) FCC Callsign DetailsThe tower they were using was located at their old office, which they moved out of a few years ago. The new office didn't have a tower at last check, so I suspect they built a new one there.
