I have 2 CDM1500 radios, I am trying to use one as a feed radio and had hooked it up to the computer line jack (Pin 1- pin 16+) The radios are both making squeeling and popping sounds and get very hot (tried reversing polarity same result). What am I doing wrong, I do still get sound out of both but it isnt right.
There is lots of documentation in other threads here on RR and on the batboard about using flat Rx audio from the CDM radios for feeds, recording, and external PA systems. I encourage you to look up some of them and learn the details of this.
If the sound is still not right without the external speaker audio (1 & 16) connected, you may have fried something in the audio circuitry of the radio. Flat Rx may still work fine for your application.
