Recording Issues

I have installed the software on a Toshiba Satelite A665 Laptop. I have put the scanner plug in to the microphone jack. I am picking up all the noise in the room that it is in. I also can not get it to find a com port. Any ideas on how to fix this issue? i am using windows 7 for the operation.

Do you see a Speaker Icon in the bottom right corner of Windows 7, change MIC to 0 and Mic input to 10-85

I'm not really sure what your referring to with "the software", I assume you talking about the Broadcasting "Software", either "Radiofeed" or "Scannercast" you want to change the Audio - Sound input or "Input Sound Device" to mic input. Make sure you don't have mic boost on,

To see "Com port" in Windows 7 click the Start icon
Under Control Panel, change the far right "View by Category" to "View by Large Icon", goto Device Manager, under "Ports (Com & LPT) right the arrow pointing rightward to expand and it will show you devices
