Also for those of you that did not know, Knobeles Amusement Park in Elysburg, PA has switched over to a 100% VHF digital MotoTrbo Radio system this year. They purchased all new radios and accessories and repeaters. They do also have a VHF P25 Digital TRS base radio installed so County Public Safety can access the parks comm center on P25 and then be patched into a parks specific talk group like EMS or Security.

Anyone able to help me with the new channel plan to update my "Bible?"

Well Northumberland County is officially operating on the new P25 Digital Trunked Radio System. As of cutover around 2:30 Wednesday afternoon, there have no issues. So now all Police, Fire, and EMS are now operating on the new system. In the near future, some local DPW agencies, THE AOAA Park, and the Knobeles P25 RADIO (interoperability patch to their MotoTrbo System) will be on line.

What company was selected to do the system installation and upkeep? Keystone Communications?

Also, how do out of county units contact Northumberland County? Is dispatch channel a Tx only freq or can out of county units talk to dispatch on it?

Yes Keystone Communications is the vendor that installed the system and will do upkeep.

As for out of county units, there is an analog "NC Interop 1" channel that should be programmed in out of county VHF radios to communicate with NC units or the VHF "V-TAC" frequencies will be utilized. Right now the SOP for that is being worked out.

I'm asking if Northumberland dispatch has channels available for out of county units to talk to them

No, the dispatch channel Is TX only. As for out of county units to talk to NC 911, I am not 100% sure what channel they will want to use. I will try to find out and let you know on here.

Any idea on what this "NC Interop 1" frequency is?

Are they in fact using the analog simulcast dispatch channel? I haven't heard anything on it since the digital system went full-time.

Thanks for confirming, now I've got to figure out why I'm not hearing it. I'm pretty sure I even have it programmed as a priority channel, yet I keep hearing fire dispatches on the digital system only which I haven't set as priority.

Is the analog channel transmitted from all towers? I'm up near the Lycoming County border, with line of sight to the Muncy Hills tower.

This showed up recently. Maybe the analog channels are going to be the interop channels? (Location #6 is the one that overlooks my house.)

Yes, some of those licensed are the VTAC channels for interop.

155.7525 VCALL
151.1375 VTAC1
154.4525 VTAC2
158.7375 VTAC3
159.4725 VTAC4

Most of these listed on the license are Law Enforcement frequencies, I believe.

The V-TAC Channels are programmed in ALL Radios. Fire, EMS, PD, Municipal etc for out of county interoperatibility and in county interoperability. But, in county radios have 2 P25 Trunked Interop Talk groups and 1 analog frequency labeled as NC Interop 1 also for to be used for out of county mutual aid coming into the county for alarms.

mabbey, you may be experiencing simulcast distortion so your best bet would be to put a directional antenna pointed at a single tower site to minimize it.

Thank you in using a uniden bcd536hp scanner . Any recommendations on a antenna model or brand to accomplish this
