• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I've never seen a company make it so hard for me to give them money than Motorola. It took me quite a while to get accounts set up and now it seems like my accounts may be messed up or something. Has anyone experienced anything like this?

I log into Motorola Business Online and try to submit a case and get told that there was an error, it was logged and their system admins will look at it (although they haven't for the past many, many months). Then it suggests to me that I can submit a case to have them look at the issue - but the issue is I can't submit a case due to a system error. Gotta love circular logic.

Also, I placed an order in September. I've got a confirmation number but there's been no action on it since I ordered it via MOL. The odd thing is it shows a confirmation number but no order number.

I have had similar issues with MOL...they advised me there are different internal systems and networks, and that if one of them hasn't been given the right permissions for your account, you will run into that error loop crap. It's vey irritating, and seems to only be solvable by multiple phone calls until you get someone who knows what hidden internal extension to call to wake up the person who has to enable your account link on the other part of the system. UGH

After 3 months of jumping through hoops and their continual failure to get my account permissions correct I threw in the towel. Actually, they forced me to when they purged my account.

All I wanted was MotoTRBO CPS. I figured a legit subscription with firmware updates would be nice.

They practically force you to get it through back channels , so don't feel bad.

No wonder so many people buy discs on E-Bay for $18. It's not because people don't want to spend the money. It's because Moto doesn't want to take the money.

Yep. I had the same problem. Tooks me 4 months worth of phone calls to finally get my account working properly again. Finally got a hold of a support tech. who knew what she was doing and she fixed everything for me.
