Hello everyone that will take the time to check this one Thread out.

156.2175 now has law traffic (1/15) Now appears to be 218.1 PLO 8/2/17

This is for the Sheriff Dept in Jerseyville IL, (Jersey County)

I have Noticed that you hear what sounds like a phone that dials really fast. Then that's it. it will stop then the scanner will go back into scan mode until it picks up something to broadcast. Anyone know why this phone sound may occur.

I think that is a radio identifier for the dispatcher. Each tone as you would imagine relates just like your phone keypad. I always thought that if you had voice contact with the dispatcher you did not need such a thing but I guess if you could not talk you could keep keying the mic to get the dispatchers attention. Or if someone may use the radio illegally at least they would know which radio it was.

Is this a new freq for Jerseyville?
