• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I have a company issued radio RDM2070D and I'm trying to download the programming to the PC and upload to another. I need to select certain PL code to work with a certain number of radios in the store. I have the USB cable the software sees it. My problem is I keep getting this software doesn't support the radio region code. I've tried Business Radio CPS, RDM Series, MURS CPS, RDX Series CPS all say the same thing.

I do have CP110 Canada CPS that actually worked with A CP110 radio but it's asking for a password to connect. I am in need of the actual software made for the RDM radio or at least know the region code. I would manually program the radio expect a few have damaged PTT buttons due to people shoving pens in them. I tried to use an ear piece and hold the PTT button while powering on but no luck.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank You,

BOB

Hi Bob,

If I remember correctly, the WalMart RDM2070D radios have their own Firmware and use a special software.

If it is display model you can find the channel pl and dpl from the menu on those 1 watt radios. It should allow you to view each one that is assigned and change it if I recall on those firmware ones.

Yea the problem is the transmit button on some radios are broken so I can't access the menus. My next option is to get a clone cable to connect 2 docking stations together to clone the radios. I did get a cp110 radio to work with the software and found that it was region 4. I know the software exists just need to find it otherwise send it back to motorola for repair and that takes weeks just for a simple program modification.
