As a teenager I briefly had an AM base station. But didn't go with all of the 10-4 and lingo.
Fairly quickly saved the cash and got a Midland SSB rig and never looked back.

In 1971 when i first installed a CB in Landcrusier you couldn't find anyone to talk to - had to bring your own walkies. Seems we have almost returned to that point !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Be careful about calling out the "Good Buddy" label. I'm told that in current lingo, this is a name used for a same-sex come-on. Just what I've read on the Internet, so it must be true :-?

What was your original AM base radio?

Midland 13-870c. Bought at a yard sale in 1987.
Later upgraded to a new Courier Galaxy V. Still have both of them to this day.
