Does anybody know if there is an adapter that is made like this but instead of being SMA male to BNC it is SMA male to SMA male. I like the wider base that attaches to the scanner like in the picture.

Just need the part that attaches to the antenna to be a SMA male and not a BNC. I have attached a picture of exactly what I am looking for except the adapter in the picture has a BNC for the antenna. I want a SMA male for the antenna.

Was trying to stay away from the barrel connector. I am familiar with those. I wanted something a little more sturdy like the one in picture but can only find that style in a SMA to BNC like in the picture.

We use them all the time at work, I always have a couple in my pocket.
They also come in a bulk-head mount which may be a little more sturdy.
Which one are you referring to? The one in the picture I posted or the barrel style? If it is the one in the picture I posted but with a SMA male instead of a BNC could you give me a part number?

Ok, I was trying to avoid the barrel style connector. I really like the one in the pic I posted except for the BNC connection to the antenna. Haven't been able to find one with a male SMA connection to the antenna.

Do you need SMA M to SMA M? I have a few I'll send you one.
Yes, Do you have one like I posted in the picture but with a SMA male to the antenna instead of the BNC? I like the wider mount to the scanner like the one in the picture has.

I have one of the regular barrel style connectors so I don't need one of those.

Here is a picture of the connection to my scanner and the antenna I want to use.

No i just have the barrel style it might be easier to find a male stubby antenna like the ones found on Wouxun radios? My KG UV9d has that style. It came with a stubby and a longer high gain male sma style. The TYT MD 380 DMR radios also come with that style stubby you need.

Yeah, that's a much better option,
Would have been easier if we knew that in the beginning

No problem. I am currently using a Radio Shack 800 Mhz antenna that works pretty well with the BNC connector.

My whole reason for doing this is because the antenna I want to use and do testing on is the same one the police in my area use on their radios.

I did find an adapter that is BNC to SMA so I am going to give that a shot. I have attached a picture of the adapter.

I am curious to see how this antenna performs on a 800Mhz trunked Phase 1 system.

It should work. SMA to the antenna and then BNC to Radio. I have attached a picture of my current SMA to male BNC on the radio.

Can you please provide a link to where you got your adapter from? I'll be needing one myself.

That's actually a female bnc in the picture. Think the male female gets confusing because some think what goes into what but the designation is based on the center conductor pin (male) vs socket (female). Important when you order adaptors.
