I guess we no longer have anyone near Pax NAS that could pick up on the low level stuff? Seeing a slow and low-level unknown mode-s hex active down there today. AE5941 Yesterday and today are the only recorded flights.

1st FW MARLIN and TBOLT flights currently active. 315.85

Had a high Flyer passing thru this afternoon 1520 local HORNET 71
on ZDC Ultra High 353.950. Good freq for higher altitude 35K plus Mil types passing thru.
He was given 41.450 as next freq assume 341.450 but not sure.
Came back no joy on that freq but lost him after that..
Got lucky on flightaware as they had him as unknown F18S to NH.
HORNT71 Live Flight Tracking and History (F18S owned by Unknown Owner) ✈ FlightAware
Maybe a USMC fleet replacement Hornet as been some carrier activity off Maine lately
with RG01 C-2A 162159 up and back that way yesterday from Norfolk NAS.
HORNET ## is usually Boeing F/18 delivery callsign and this one did come from Midwest earlier.

Aurora Flight Sciences has some other experimental stuff registered to them, not likely at Manassas though.

Bit OT but seems the Vermont ANG is ending their F-16 missions soon
but will be picking up the F-35 in September..
Always thought the Green Mountain Boys had the sharpest looking F-16's but hopefully
will hear the 134th FS "MAPLE ##" callsign around here in the Fall with the new F-35.
They often had an Alert detachment at Andrews after 9/11 for scrambles and will be the first ANG unit with
the F-35.

Guys,

Here's my last list of Mid Atlantic milair freqs. It's more than a year old but still useful (I think)

Nice list - I see that your information indicates that you use a Diamond Discone in your attic. I do the same. I generally monitor public safety frequencies, but I've been expanding a bit - how does the attic antenna work for Mil Air monitoring.

In my case it works quite well. My attic is about 20 ft above the ground.

In VHF ranges I have about a 400 mile radio horizon (if acft above 10,000 ft) & at UHF freqs about 200 miles.
