Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hello gents and ladies,

I just recently aquired a HT1250LS+, been programming it and in the CPS conventional personality I can only get up to 34 channels. Is this common?, am I doing something wrong to know have anymore channels?.

The LS+ radios only held 16 or 34 conventional channels depending on model. The radio was intended to be used for LTR trunking or Passport trunking, so they did not have a lot of conventional available. I have read rumors that there were models that supported more channels, but have never confirmed it or saw it myself. The long model number from the back of the radio tells a lot more information of what the radio can do.

Always look for the LS suffix on warris series radios and AVOID them. Probably 90% of them have only 16 channels conventional. You're lucky you have 34. These can be converted to non-LS radios with 64 channels with some work and prohibited software. For now you're stuck with 34 channels.

With some secret squirrel sauce; you can flash and reprogram the radio into a standard HT1250 with 128 channels. However, as Skypilot007 said, you'd need access to some prohibited software to do the procedure.

There is occasionally a guy on e-Bay that offers reflashing services on those radios to take the trunking out and give you more conventional channels. I don't recall what it costs.

My buddy bought an HT1250LS that came with 256 channels. Must have been that secret squirrel sauce ;)

Bryan knows his stuff that's for sure. He helped me out with my 220MHz CDM1550. I also like the relaxing music in the background of most of his videos.
