And, the scanner came with 4 rubber stick-on feet.
The supplied rubber feet are located in the plastic bag containing the mounting bracket screws. They are small feet. I used on the mounting bracket, works fine. See attached photo - I inverted the mounting bracket to use as a stand. BTW, the Bearcat display was a marketing display used in retail stores late 70's/early 80's. I obtained at a hamfest in '84.[/QUOTE]

When I got my unit last week and I had it on for about 15 mints than the white noise came on. Since then it hasn't gone away yesterday it was pretty loud so I turn off the unit and turn it back on the noise still there. Debating returning the unit in the next few days. I have to look into the return policy and so on.

The BC20 models, non-powered, with a switchable noise suppressor (acts like a noise blanker, relevant to vehicle installations, mains power line noises). To my ears, the BC20's sound great - I use on my 536's as well as the 200's. Adds a depth to the audio, enhances my listening experience.

Nice! I remember seeing these in K Mart stores. K Mart is where I purchased my first programmable scanners - the original BC-210, purchased two and loved them. 40+ years of owning Bearcat scanners.

Just to clarify loyalties here the Bearcat name on the two scanners shown as Bearcat was owned by the Electra company in Cumberland Indiana. Uniden took over after the 210xl became the 210xlt and Uniden took credit for it. I owned them all, all the way back to the crystal control units. Now back to Uniden issues with the sds200. Thanks Kevin for allowing me to point that out.

Deleted - off topic sorry

It is rare that I have problems with anything I buy. At my age, most of my problems with high end electronics are self induced lol.

Yep, those rubber feet were better suited for some little Munchkin scanner, not a beefy base station like the SDS200. Sorry, Paul lol. But I put them to good use on a desk stand that I use for a 2m HT - perfect :)

The supplied rubber feet fit into the four indentations on the bracket. They work well when using the brackets as a tilt stand.

Just out of curiosity, have any of you noticed that it takes something like five detent clicks of the volume dial before you start to hear scanner audio from the internal speaker? This is also the case for the headphone and speaker jacks. This does not take in to account the modulating hum that can be heard at power on without turning up the volume. Strangely, this means that the lowest monitoring level may still be too loud in some situations. I wonder if this is something that can be resolved in firmware?

I can hear audio with the volume level at 1.

I miss Kmart, life has never been the same. We have Kmart nostalgia parties here in town when it's snowy out. Some of us voluntarily enrolled ourselves in a grief support group. It's been helpful, but still, my eyes well up at times triggered by other things. Being born into the Sargasso Sea of consumerism in middle America has it's unintended consequences. Sorry for the rambling...

I thought i read here on one of the post that someone replaced the sd card with a better one and the noise went away has anyone tried this yet?

Interestingly, removing the SD card makes the noise go away. Replacing it doesn't do anything. Now I'm eyeing the processor and how it ties to the screen. Closing in on the problem.

Just talking this out: my hunch was the screen but removing the SD card totally eliminates the noise but the screen is on. So that connection is fine. The front headphone jack is fine. With the SD card in, the speaker and rear jack have the noise. But establishing a connection between the top plate and the metal housing on the screen reduces the noise. The processor is connected to the screen.

Now we are getting somewhere. Thanks Badboy536!
