Trying to set my SDS200 to play on VLC media player besides the IP address what else do you need. My BCD536 plays fine but thats wireless. Any help. Thanks.
So, rtsp://IP:554/au:scanner.au Got it. ThanksIt's the same as the 536, use the same format with the 200's IP address
That works for me.So, rtsp://IP/au:scanner.au
rtsp:// 192.168.1.100/au:scanner.auSo, rtsp://IP:554/au:scanner.au Got it. Thanks
What am I doing wrong with VLC? I hard coded the IP on my SDS200 to 192.168.1.159. It plays fine on an iPhone running Siren. But, I can't get VLC to stream it. I can ping the scanner from my PC, but no luck streaming the audio.
Here are the basics:
1. Start VLC
2. From the top menu items, I select Media
3. From the dropdown menu, I select Stream
4. Select the Network tab
5. In the URL: rtsp:// 192.168.1.159/au:scanner.au
6. If I select Play from the options, I receive the following error:
Connection failed:
VLC could not connect to " 192.168.1.159:554".
Your input can't be opened:
VLC is unable to open the MRL 'rtsp:// 192.168.1.159/au:scanner.au'. Check the log for details.
If I change select Stream (instead of Play in step 6), get the same error. Any thoughts on my error?

Remove the space in the URL in step 5. rtsp://[SPACE]192.168.1.159/au:scanner.au
Also only one app at a time can access the audio so shutdown Siren if running.
An alternative to the VLC Player is my free BCD536HP Audio Player.
It works with the SDS200 LAN. eaf1956 reported "At least this player doesn't have the delay like VLC does."
Installer file

Plain zip - Unzip and copy to any folder.

It's a bit pedestrian but works fine.I downloaded it yesterday haven’t tested yet but thanks!
never heard of it, but if it can stream a URL, probably.Anyone know if OBS studio can connect to the scanner via RTSP? Pretty awesome if so!!
