ACFD had a house speaker system that would re dispatch address and run assignment on 154.025. Since the switch to the county p25 system that is silent from what I understand. However, every morning on the p25 system they make reference to testing the back up radio system. Anyone know what that is? Freqs, etc?

Atlantic City has 154.025 under a current license at 100 watts and it looks like its repeated according to the FCC database

Question, the original poster (quote) states the 154.025 Repeater is OFF AIR since the switch to the AC P25 system.
Others here say they can hear it especially during ducting.
* Is the frequency still active?
* Or is everyone reminiscing the "past" times when this signal WAS herd?

Thanks

As best as I can tell the house speaker 154.025 is no longer active.....but somehow, for redundancy purposes, they are rebroadcasting the alarm address and run assignment....I just don't know how that works or on what freq or system...

I am down there quite often, so if AC is still using anything on analog still, please post. I haven't been bringing my scanner there lately since their FD made the switch. But, if they are back rebroadcasting on 154.025 or another analog channel, please let me know.

When I joined my town's rescue squad in 1980 (East Windsor 1) we were also dispatched on 154.025 which was also used by the police department. The Micor radios in the trucks only had CTCSS enabled on the transmit side so we'd frequently hear "wide awake, wide awake". In fact the responding members who had CBs in their cars would call "wide awake, wide awake" to let others know they were on the way to the building or going to the scene.

Just went through FCC DB and the following analog public safety band frequencies are still licensed to Atlantic City. It may be worth plugging into our scanners when in the area to see if any are actually being used for something:
155.220, 154.055, 154.415, 453.275, 453.675, 460.550, 155.010, 154.025 (still used by FD?), 153.725, 155.310, 155.130 (old PD Dispatch), 155.415, 155.970, 460.150, 460.425, 460.525, 154.100, 460.200, 460.325. (I left out all the inputs).

Anything heard on the frequencies I posted above yet? I am planning on going down there in a couple of weeks and was wondering if it is even worth bringing my analog scanner with me?

I can confirm all the fire DISPATCH frequencies are still in use because I can hear them in Cape May. If you do bring your scanner I'd be curious if you hear anything on the mil-air frequencies. They have been doing a LOT of training these past few weeks

Ok, thanks Jaymatt. Are you referring to the mil air channels listed under "aviation" for Atlantic County? If so, I know for sure I have close-called a couple of those as they flew right over the beach last summer. I would have to check my notes at home for which freqs they were. Perhaps we can chat more via PM?
