I recently Columbus with my 436 and was having problems picking up the control Channel which I want able to hear anything. I used the database download into my 436 updated on 3/1/19.

Is there a control Channel that I’m missing or is not on RR.

I will soon be using a G5 maybe that will help.

I had to sell my 436, it had issues decoding the MARCS simulcast sites, namely Columbus, Cincinnati, and Dayton. Your 436 should work fine around Fostoria but not the simulcast cities.

I went with a G4 and couldn't be more pleased. I am looking to upgrade to a G5 since it now does DMR.

Definitely Simulcast Distortion, especially with the Columbus City Site, G4,G5 Unication work well, The SDS100,SDS200 also work extremely well and offer more flexibility

I get bad simulcast distortion with Columbus MARCS. I am blessed with a tower (Lazelle Rd.) within 2 miles for Columbus City, so I receive them perfectly....thankfully. I suppose it is all dependent upon the location of each person who wishes to monitor.
