So now what? My usb failed,kaput.6 different charger/power source and,nothing.anyone?HELP!

Does the unit run on batteries? You tried different power sources, did you try more than one cable?

Runs fine on battery,yes multiple cords including new,usb is dead,no power,cant update,

Did you just get the scanner? I assume you know about selecting serial and mass storage modes when you plug in the cable.

Of course out of"warranty",how it always happens lol,its not recognized nor activated on 3 different PC's,wont power on nor confirm connection upon applying power source(3 used cords,4 new cords),plug in just wiggles around in usb port.examination(not opened) visually shows nothing,random restart,random volume spikes. On 2 1/2 yrs old unit no problems prior,never dropped,never problems,1 day POOF,failed

If cable is loose in USB port, it sounds like it is time for a repair.

Getting the jack replaced by Uniden will cost about $80.

I would replace the USB jack for an extra $20 while doing the GPS installation.
