Monroeville "Secure" Channel?

Recently I heard 2 officers talking about an incident when one of them said, "Switch to secure" and the channel I was listening to went dark. I wasn't sure if anyone knew anything about a UHF Secure channel. I know they had a VHF secure channel before they moved to UHF.

If it's designated as "secure" there's a good chance the radio traffic on that particular channel might be encrypted which in that case your radio wouldn't be able to pick it up. With that said, Monroeville has a slew of different frequencies under a few different FCC callsigns here if you want to try and plug them in

Its a p25 simplex frequency Base/Mobile and has ADP encryption strapped on it so you will never hear it.

yes its in their uhf radios as mon pd secure. The fire radios dont have it.
