That's interesting, so at least it's heard somewhere. Thanks.

So far the 3 frequencies that I've been able to monitor in the east end, 422.8000, 422.6875 and 423.3375 all haven't broadcast it, despite numerous instances where it was referenced, even yesterday it was a streetcar overhead crew asking for a channel with Power Control to cut and then restore power on a section they were working on.

I was able to determine that was Eglinton Garage yesterday.

I've heard different bus garages and 122 Route Supervisors communicating with this. Several times they've called out to Malvern, Queensway & Wilson Garages as well as Route Supervisors identifying themselves as Bus Operations.

Alright, I might be wrong I just heard it for half an hour and only two routes mentioned were coincidentally Eglinton bus routes

Hello,

Possibly Ontario Power Generation based on TAFL and this press release.

73 Eric

TAFL listing for 412.2375 OPG which Eric refers to come up as 7.6k bandwidth (DMR), analog, or 20k (looks like TETRA) for different locations.

Well I am just hearing 101013 - Surface Channel 3 on the 422.8000 and 422.6875, during a track level fire on the YUS. So maybe its just dependant on the location in the city where it's occurring, it's not being multicast on the entire system.

Well at least that clears it up I think.

It would be nice if we could figure out where these "towers" are located.

So, using the collaboration in this thread and TAFL data, this what I've come up with: Site Map: Toronto Transit Commission Trunking System, Toronto, Ontario

Nice, could you add the frequencies in the info?

Never mind, you did in the main system info.

I guess you aren't able to figure out where 423.3375 is yet, eh? I pick that one up quite decent in Scarborough (Markham/Eglinton area) now, but its signal strength is lower than Malvern (strongest), Finch (good), and 423.3375 (ok)

Looks like 422.800 came back sometime overnight...

However, I have discovered some more interesting things... Yesterday when 422.800 went down, i found i had another SDR from when I was doing ADSB, and it had a built in amplifier, so i was able to tune into 422.6875 on another computer.

So it appears that some talkgroups are not broadcast on all frequencies, as I have been listening to both frequencies for the past hour, and I have noticed several differences between them, some talkgroups being on both, and some on one but not the other.
That is good to know - I can tune 3 LA but from my short test of running 2 instances it seemed they were all duplicates of each other, obviously they are not.

All three are back now so for me it looks normal.

So it looks like we're missing confirmation of the Birchmount Garage, listed as 412.2125/423.3375/423.4375 Greenwood Yard, listed as 412.0625/412.6125 & Wilson Yard, listed as 413.1875/423.3625/423.4625?

Greenwood was confirmed. I may be able to monitor Wilson.

Scouring TAFL for Tetra Digital, some other possibilities are these:

  • 422.2625 Keele
  • 423.3625 Wilson
  • 422.4625 Vaughan, Kennedy or Wilson
  • 412.0625 Greenwood
  • 423.2875 Hillcrest

I'll look for the tell-tale LA's.

So I can monitor CN Tower, Finch and Malvern. When an LCN appears that has not been logged before it is added to my systems database automatically. I have monitored all 3 LA sporadically, short duration and this is the current list I have. The database is shared by all 3 LA so it is stocked commonly.

I have added the talkgroups manually from where I could find them. I may not have done that accurately so revisions are welcome as are additions.

I have not monitored any of them for any long period but here is what it has found so far. I am thinking I can run 3 simultaneous instances and let it run for a good period of time at some point. (mini project).

Getting a beautiful signal on 423.3625 LA 33. Looks like it is Wilson, considering my NW location in the city.

Now to hunt for LA 31 and LA 32 if it is out my way.

Hello,

Here is a rough extract of TAFL data for TTC Tetra. I sorted it by callsign. There are a number of underground LAs licensed. They are using radiating cable in the underground tunnels.

One thing I noticed about the system up in Montreal is all frequencies at a LA are transmitting, unlike other trunked systems. That hinders monitoring on multiple frequency LAs with the AOR DV-1 since the frequency with the "control channel" is likely to have more voice transmissions on it . So if you hear LA 33 on 423.3625 then you should hear LA 33 on 413.1875 and 423.4625 as well, if active.
