• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Is there any way that anyone might know of to troubleshoot why this radio doesn't work on P25?

Is P25 enabled on your radio? If you look under <Menu> <Utility> <Feature Info> It will say P25 CONVENTIONAL if it is enabled. If not, I don't think it will work on P25.

Did you make a conventional set or a P25 conventional set? Is P25 selected in the set? Do you have the right NAC? Not sure how this affects things but do you have C4FM selected? Other options are narrow and wide but I don't know of that will program with P25 selected.

Okay.. you need to be more specific about what is not working and what you are trying to do if you expect anyone to be able to help you. Also post the firmware and features your radio has enabled.

This portable radio has current firmware, programmed with a mission plan setup with viable P25 phase 1 info using the current version of RPM. The radio is equipped with the P25 feature. This personality is operational in a similar radio. I'm thinking there's some sort of failure and I was soliciting any troubleshooting info along those lines.

........and can I say.....respectfully....Holyshizit! NOBODY SUGGESTED YOU ALL ARE MINDREADERS! Wow.....

The XG-100P is a very complex radio, not to mention the RPM. Out of the gate there is a big list of potential things that could be the problem and the more info you give the smaller the list gets and the faster you can fix it.

We arent trying to hassle you or be a pain, but you have to see it from our point of view. You want us to help you with a radio problem but you give us 1 sentence to work with and you give no information on the radio, what you are trying to monitor, or what your current settings are, etc.
