• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

If you are getting the password error download new PPS which resolves the password issue. There are no other new user features to the new PPS.
Do you recommend those of us who have not had password errors also download and install this PPS update?

I tried it with 03-16-21 and, aside from having to wait 10 to 15 minutes for it to initialize the first time, it worked for me with my RR credentials. Sorry to hear it's not working for some of you guys. At least the manual import feature works! That's a good option.

I see this Beta 22 version...is that supposed to resolve the RR connection issue?

I was having the import problem when 1.31 first came out. The first time I used it, it worked. Subsequent attempts to import resulted in PPS crashing. Login always worked. Event Viewer logs indicated that ASP.NET was throwing an error. Checking Windows Features showed the ASP.NET wasn't enabled. I installed the latest version and enabled it, but that still didn't help. I renamed the RadioReference folder, then let PPS recreate it, and all has been good so far. YMMV.

I've been having the same import RR problem as others have reported and I have 3.16.21 PPS. I will install the .NET Framework update that Uni1 mentioned. I am running Windows 10 on my Lenovo X1Carbon laptop. My laptop was upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7 Professional a while ago.

Where is the RadioReference folder located? I have been unable to find this folder on my PC to try the rename trick. It looks like the PPS installation didn't create this folder.

It's in a hidden folder. Open File Explorer. Click View, then put a check-mark in Hidden Items. Navigate to folder C:\ProgramData\Unication. The RadioReference folder will be there.

I don't think PPS builds that directory until you try to import the first time.

I have downloaded the new version for my G4 and it still says that my user name and password are wrong. Could this possibly be because I am a feed provider and my subscription status shows s never expired? Not sure why I cant log in.
