Here's 12 new Frequencies, 6 Pairs allocated for Phase 2 in Bridgeport. I guess they are getting a new system in the future. Looks like PD already encrypted on the old system.

It would be better if instead of creating campus systems they just put those frequencies into whatever local state zone they are in. Much easier to scan one control channel than multiple ones that are all a part of the same system.

There would be no need for Bridgeport to broadcast over Troop G's entire area with every municipal talkgroup. Also, every site would need the extra equipment instead of just 2 sites.
From a scanner user point of view, it would be nice but not practical from a system point of view.

As Chris said, building every site in the G subsystem to handle Bridgeport's traffic would be both a waste of money and a waste of equipment/spectrum. There will be some roaming rights on the G system when radios move outside of the coverage of the Bridgeport sub. So they will gain wider area coverage while not constantly wasting resources through the entire region when the traffic generally doesn't need to leave the city limits.

Just FYI Both are 1...The "stand alone system" will be a site on the state system
Check out the posts about New Britain and Stamford, This will be the same

Not built yet, We work with BPD all the time and they are being told end of the year time frame, Everything will still be encrypted

There has been some activity on the Bridgeport simulcast over the last week or so. Since last night Westport PD (TG 25818), Westport EMS (TG 25825) and Trumbull Fire Dispatch (TG 24401) have activity and Bridgeport TG's 11526 & 11527 have popped up. UniTrunker showed some joins on 11526 yesterday and this morning 11527 had some mic blowing and an emergency activation. Last week all the Westport primary dispatch TG's were showing up on it.

Well lets hope for Fire fighter safety they are using simplex fire-ground with futurecom repeaters like Stamford & Greenwich do.
