I purchased a new Kenwood TS-590SG transceiver to be used as a receiver only until I get around to obtaining a license. Due to heath problem I'm able to install and outside antenna at this time. As a result I'm working with various minimum antennas inside my home. Are there any scheduled amateur radio nets I can monitor with this setup? I'm located in North Macomb County, Michigan. If you could please post their frequencies, days and times I should tune in it would be appreciated. I realize conditions are poor right now but I've been unable to fine anything.

Thanks,
Bill

An inside antenna is not likely to give you much success. Noise levels in some areas are high, and with an outside end fed antenna I sometimes cannot even get a good signal on 40 or 80 meters. Even WWV is not consistantly received. Don't forget that a good ground is also part of the antenna system.

There is a Michigan net on 3935 most evenings around 2200 or 2300utc(6:00 or 7:00pm local). Also 3921 has a Michigan U.P. net around the same time on some weeknights.
