I'd heard anecdotes of national guard occasionally utilizing frequencies between 50-54 mhz in the past.

Recently WSMR asked/told repeater owners in South-Central NM to vacate 420-430 mhz for some new system they're installing. This resulted in a number of links having to be retooled.

I just found the Texas Sanchez Jail on 148.85 when their real frequency is 154.995 so that's odd. Around fort bliss, there is a lot of 2m use. Rule of thumb...if the broadcast is in Spanish it's ham and English is dudes on base. Remember when the FCC usta have bands and rules and stuff...?

generally this is called an image frequency
Even occurs (depends on the make/model) where I've had 900 Mhz appear in the 172-174 band

If this is such a big issue, have you submitted the updates for change/addition to the database?
I am going to share and update. (I keep saying that for years now :)) I'm kneedeep in school and find myself still doing 'research' on frequencies in the very few rare free moments I get.
I am DYING to share with everyone my hard work. :giggle: Can I attach my spreadsheet to this forum? Is that allowed?

Here's a list of the TGs I logged on the Holloman site of the United States Air Force (3D6) system over the past couple weeks, including the air show. In parentheses is the number of transmissions logged. Those with zero only have affiliations. I have recordings but have not tried to decipher the specific uses.

Thanks for sharing your Fort Bliss/White Sands TGs! You should submit them to the DB. BTW the Fort Bliss/White Sands system has a new SysID and new site numbers, which I just submitted to the DB. I couldn't pick the Fort Bliss site, however, so someone needs to check and submit it. It is probably 7.7 based on neighbor data from the Salinas Peak site.

I'll post my custom spreadsheet for El Paso and south NM. It has all the Fort Bliss talk groups since I was working there, I had a lot of downtime for research. They can change frequencies, they better not change the talk groups! :D

I expect like most AFBs there's a combination of Fire, Police/Security, Maintenance, Fueling, Training, maybe some patches to WSMR..

@emtbucky1 can you log the Ft. Bliss site? I want to confirm the site ID is 7.7. I'm also looking for the NAC and site frequenices.

Thanks!

I know this isn't what you're looking for however as far as DoD in the VHF for this area, I'll share what I have found just for the heck of it..:
With the exception of 134.1 Seldom use on the rest of them.

134.10000KBIF BlissRDO, Mcgregor, Ranges, FBFD, RangeOps, Medevac, links to 237.2 and 32.05, 41.7 FM
136.27500Air NG, AM
140.41250TX NG Ch.2 NG Tac-2
143.12500KBIF, Biggs AAF, Air NG Ops
149.22500NG Ch.2 Admin Net 67.0c
150.75000WBAMC, Bliss RDO, McGregor, Range Ops, Medevac, Military, WBAMC EMS, (old?)
165.06250FBFD - digital signal to fire dept, base fire alarms
168.52500VA Hospital - Transportation Ops, 141.3c
237.20000KBIF BlissRDO, Biggs AAF, Bliss Radio UHF, 134.1

Is the (TX?) NG Admin Net by any chance Channel 12 (one-two) or do you think it's a New Mexico or National assignment?

Is 134.1/237.2/41.7/32.05 wide coverage or only receivable in the vicinity of Fort Bliss or Camp McGregor? The same goes for 168.525, can you only hear it near WBAMC?

149.225 may be a Texas Army National Guard statewide allocation or this could just be a coincidence:
I have also seen it listed for Sheppard AFB but have never heard it used here.

134.1/237.2/41.7/32.05 is very active, however, varies all over EL PASO/NM Area. however, OERTO COUNTY is usually the best to be heard. 132.1/237.2 is all your Blackhawks running all over fort bliss. And 41.7 will be for Mcgregor and Dona Ana basecamps for various uses, and 32.05 is mainly used for real-world medical missions by FBFD that will link to the FBWS P25 bank, and allow communications with EMS/FD response for real-word (non-training) patient response that connects medevac(ARMY) and FD and EMS and Range OPS so they can all chat with ea other.

168.525 is dead and old. WBAMC EMS/SECURITY/OPS/ SHUTTLES is on the FBWS P25 system. Or at least was since the system is down right now? or changed. ?

Here and there...
Hey Everyone! HAFB left the Ft Bliss radio network a few months ago. Additionally, there are now at least 4 new systems operated by Ft. Bliss. They are split between Ft. Bliss and WSMR. So far I can't quite differentiate where each site is located from my house, but this is what I have so far. If you look close you will see that there is some NEW Phase 2 traffic! There is much more work that we need done for this new system.

Here is link for the new WSMR system. I'll add TGs to it soon. I've had it in staging because I was trying to figure out what is going on with Ft. Bliss.

@emtbucky1 reported they can no longer hear any control channels in the 400mhz range in El Paso and found a CC on 385.3125 with a system ID of 31 and the NAC is 007.

The system ID matches the new WSMR System ID and the other NAC sites are the hex version of the site IDs. Without anyone confirming the CC info with DSD, I'm assuming the Ft. Bliss CC is the 7.7 site with the CC of 385.3125 and not in the 400s like the other sites.
