The Nellis AFB Website states that "walkie-talkies", ham radios, and scanners are not permitted at the air show. In the distant past I used to avoid the crowds and listened to whatever I wanted by parking a short distance from the base fence line near Hollywood, North of Carey. Nobody bothered me back then.

Look at nellis.af.mil/Aviation-Nation

Just wondering whats good to listen to at the air show? Freqs, etc.

The database is pretty much accurate for performers, look at the website for the air show make a list of who will be there and check the database. Also a search of the forums (search button top right) with the term air show will return a lot of results.

I last watched the air show back in 2005 and did it from off the base property and saw what I wanted to see, avoided the after show traffic, and had five scanners operating.

I used to work in that general area. We had an airshow every day. The sound of freedom did make recording/tracking a tad bit difficult... even in isolation rooms.
