Locked onto the control channel ... Decode rate is 99% ...NAC is 47 ...ID 18 ..Working great for me. The decode rate for a PRO96 on the same channel is 33-to-39% with no info and no tracking at all. I just love this GRE !

What system are you monitoring? Your profile does not show your location and you didn't specify where you are in the post!

Glad to hear you're happy with your GRE product. That's what you get for purchasing a real scanner over the buggy Unidens...

The new APCO P25 system in southern Saskatchewan . Both of these scanners show the decode rate when locked onto the control channel. To display this info. on the GRE : Scanning the system push MANUAL , Radio will stop on the control channel , then push TUNE .

How do you get the decode rate?
During coms press F2. Then press F3 under Analyz. Then press Down through the frequencies. If you are within range of a tower(s), you will see alternating data on bottom line when on a control.

I made a post yesterday while doing some DB updates, and only after that realized that this thread is here, so I deleted my own thread and let this one stand.

OP - I think I'm going to edit the title of this thread to make it a little more descriptive.

My PSR600C is trunking the control channels ! It is following the talk groups as the channels change just like it should . The decode rate is 99% It is in P25 mode not conventional mode. My PRO96 has a decode rate of 40% max and will not trunk the system so I have it in conventional mode. I do not have a PSR500 so I can't give you any info on that . SaskPower talk groups and more RCMP talk groups will be posted as they come up on my radio. This is great news !

Hi guys,

Given what VE5WIL has specified above, what do you think that the tower numbers are actually intended to be "half" of what they are? i.e. the site he submits above is site 181, the site at Dunmore (in the RRDB) is site 52, etc?

Please keep firing in these updates and I'll put them in the DB as soon as I can. Thanks!

Does anyone know if there are active control-channels near the SK/MB border? I'm willing to go do a site survery and get some sites/frequencies down, but don't want to waste the gas if there's nothing near MB.

Sounds like a fun system to monitor! I remember how much fun Manitoba's 800 MHz Fleetnet system was to nail down about 12 years ago.

not sure what your reply to mobile1 means?

But it seems to insinuate that the Pro96 is a Uniden scanner, if fact it's designed for RS by GRE.

I'm gonna rename/renumber the sites based on their "single" IDs, i.e. 181181 is going to become 181. Everything we've gathered points toward this being true.

The sysid 00A and WACN 00000 is really weird. Someone care to check on that?

You guys really need to get a Unitrunker setup running on these systems. :D

I get WACN 0000A here . I downloaded UniTrunker and used a PSR600C with it . I had no luck with this on the local control channel . Nothing showed up at all !
