• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Need to tap the vast expertise out in the group. Have been going crazy trying to find the right item.

I'm looking to see if havis makes a specific faceplate for a Kenwood TM-D710GA and a GRE/Radioshack scanner and also a Motrola XTL5000 control head.

I know Troy makes faceplacts for these specific items but a troy faceplace from my understanding doesn't fit a havis console. I have looked over the list that I found on the havis website and it is driving me crazy.

Does anyone have firsthand knowledge of this from installs they have done.

For the Kenwood probably not as its not a Public safety radio. I have just used a blank flat plate of similar size and mounted it with heavy duty velcro. The GRE you would have to call them with the With and height to get a smilar size I have had to do that for scanners in the past many times they are similar to dash mount radios 2ways but you may have to drill new holes to mount the scanner in the bracket. The XTL yes they make one.

Troy will have the xtl, possibly a gre. Don't remember if they have a generic option similar to the Havis 2 piece options though.

I have seen users have a faceplate for that Kenwood 710GA; check the Pictures subforum on here...I think WX4EMT had his mounted so check his Tahoe thread (I think it's the longest thread on here...at least in the Pictures subforum...).

When I was putting my havis console together I just called them and told them what radios I had and they sent everything. My icom wasn't on their list on their website but they found the measurements and had me confirm it. The one they sent fit perfect. I also had a pro 197 they had a plate to fit it too. They said they can send a plate for anything if they have the measurements.

Thank you for that information, I will give them a call and confirm with them and place my order.
