    Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value.     The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

    For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I am taping into an ignition controlled circuit at the drivers side fuse box, so that my radio is controlled by the ignition key. This has worked with my previous land cruisers. In the 2017 Land cruiser the fuse tap results in a continually hot 12v lead. Any suggestions regarding a source for an ignition controlled tap, thanks

Any circuits labeled “GPS” or sunroof? They are usually only ignition hot.

thanks, yes the fused circuits such as power outlets, radio and cig which i have tapped into in prior landcrusiers and are controlled by the ignition yet when I tap these fuses , there is a constant 12v ...very odd. perhaps it is the keyless ignition, thanks for your response

I think you'll find on some newer vehicles accessories like the radio are "always on" and the traditional "ignition switched" control is now done over the CAN buss.

Grabbing a Haynes type manual might be worth the cost. Sitting down with that and a cup of coffee while going over the electrical schematics might be necessary.

STRG HTR FUSE (a 15A fuse) appears to be controlled by an ignition relay, (and least likely to be used). Wiper fuses and seat heater fuses are also ignition controlled.

Get a voltmeter and you can check each fuse plug. If you're installing a scanner, GPS, etc., the fuse block would be fine. If you're installing an amateur radio, I would go straight to the battery.
