If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

The 2013 Accord has a square-shaped cup holder (photos below). Are there any cup holder mounts that will fit this and have a solid snug install with no wobble or flimsiness? All the ones online are round. This would be to mount a mobile scanner like a Uniden BCT15X or BCD996P2 which have some weight to 'em.

If you're handy with a welder, and like diy, I'd recommend going to a junkyard or steel scrap yard and see if you can find either I-Beam that'll fit or even part of a car frame. Hitch assemblies would be pretty good and probably near the right size to fit in there snug. Depending where you go, they might not even charge you

Those scanners are relatively large and heavy. I would think that any solution that puts them "in the air" will be difficult to engineer without affecting the vehicle interior. Isn't there some location where you could fabricate a more stable mount? Is there an adequate cubby space forward of the shifter?

I must have missed the part about the OP wanting to put a mobile radio in the cup holder. What about removing the cup holder from the console and building your own mount and an escutcheon out of ABS plastic?

Pull that plastic cover off the transmission hump and see what kind of space you're working with down there. I don't see any realistic way of fitting something the size of a 15X or 996PS in there without some cutting and/or custom fab. cheif21 is on the right track - there's likely a void behind the coin tray area just in front of the shifter.

Juice boxes. It's a millennial thing.

Come on now, be nice to millennials - they will be serving you your juice box in a few years... :p

Well everything it’s designed to hold is round (cups and bottles). So I’m sure a round cup-holder mount would work just as well as if it was round.
