If you have a double DIN style stereo and you want to install a CB in dash, then check this out.
President has released a new line of radios called the McKinley. This is an FCC certified 40 channel radio. It has SSB and AM, plus it can scan, offers 3 colors (amber, blue and green) and features the ability to adjust the carrier, roger beep, built in SWR checker and it can even pick up weather warnings.
This is my personal radio. The dash has what's called a "double DIN" opening. Meaning it's large opening like you'd find on radios with a built in DVD player. If you have a Toyota built from 2000 through 2004, you probably have one of these.
In a nutshell, I installed an aftermarket stereo I purchased from Wal Mart, and then slightly bent the stock stereo brackets to line up with the side case screws on the CB. Then I drilled the holes and screwed it to the radio.
This is a simple task that anyone with a drill/drill bits and a screwdriver can do. The radio doesn't have any heat issues, and there's ample room behind for the connectors.
