PRO-164 Scanner

I just purchased the PRO-164 antenna and was wondering if I should purchase the 800MHZ antenna. I am new to this and not sure if it will make a difference. There are some trunked frequencies that I would eventually like to listen to. I live in Will County in Illinois.

As per the Database, Will Co. operates an 800MHz trunked system for public safety. In your case, the 800MHz may work better for you, however, before you purchase, test the scanner after it's been properly programmed and see how well it picks up the system. I'm in Suffolk Co. in NY and I can pick up our 800MHz system without a specific antenna; however, in building or on fringe areas, the antenna does help out a bit.
