HELP

Looking at the screen shot you posted, it appears the system has been re-banded. You should need only the 4 freqs. shown in red.
The PRO-164 needs to have Custom Band Plans installed to be able to follow conversations on a re-banded system. It can only be done using your ARC300 program and cable connected to your computer.
I think you can find instructions by searching RadioReference.

If you download data from the database I'm pretty sure the packages that support the 164 will set up the custom table for you. See the PSR-300/400 Software and USB Support article at the bottom of...

Programming Your Radio Shack Scanner - The RadioReference Wiki

If you wish to apply the rebanding changes manually the instructions are at the bottom of the software article

best regards..Mike

PRO 163/164 scaner

I use Don Starr's Win97 software. It uses direct import from Radio Reference databases. Any other software is cumbersome to import. The trial period is 30 days try it and if it works for register it.

Here are 2 more pics below, how I did the rebanded and the 4 frequencies are in the bank 2, still no luck, if I put in manual mode it copy part of the conversations but not in scan mode, if anyone can check this and told me what I did wrong, any help very appreciated.

I see two problems.
1) Each freq. must say ED (EDACS). Yours say FM.
2) EDACS freqs. MUST start in channel 1 (201 in your case, not 200). And they must be in the correct channels, called the Logical Channel Number (LCN). Many systems are also in numerical order; Ch. 1, 2, 3 & 4, but some systems are not. There are ways to find out the correct LCN. Try searching the WIKI. You might be lucky and that system might be in numerical order.

What you are hear is the Data control channel. Check you owners manual or if you are using ARC or WIN97 software the Closed box has to be checked. that forces the scanner to go into a Trunking mode and will follow any conversations you hear and will switch frequencies as the Trunk-er system is supposed to. Use radio referance data to download the proper frequencies and the Talk-group Fleet map for your area and activate that bank in th closed trunking mode and you should hear every thing.

And that pic from BuTel (which is where it came from) is terrible - those UHF offsets will never work with a 800 mhz system (why did Gommert use that particular example?). Anyway, I'd download the data using the web import and fix it that way. Since the Win97 example shows nothing in the offsets table, I would assume ARC300 would, too - so I'd follow suit and drop those incorrect offsets.

If anyone can supply a correct pic using rebanded tables for ARC300, I'll make sure it gets fixed in the wiki.

best regards..Mike

Did the changes, move to 201 begin pgm there, close mode, motorola, rebanded and instead FM mot too, but still not locking in conversations , only in manual mode talk part in each of the first two.

This is very frustrating, but I will try anything that make this work, dont know if this is EDAC, MOT APCO 25 or LTR, I tried in three of them except apco 25 because the radio is not capable. How I can determine wich one is the correct one?
