I have Philly Mot 800/900 and Bucks County Mot 800/900 programmed in my scanner and some conventional frequencies like PA Turnpike Dist 4 and Philly Airport and NE Airport. All downloaded and programmed from RR via the Radio Shack software with the cable hooked up from computer to scanner. Up until about a week ago the scanner worked just fine. Now there is no audio from the 2 trunked systems, Philly MOT 800/900 and Bucks County MOT 800/900. However there is audio from the conventional frequencies like PA Turnpike. The scanner will stop on the Philly and Bucks channels but no audio. When it stops on PA Turnpike and Airport channels I hear the audio. So my question is has anyone had this problem with the Pro-106? If so could someone please post a solution to this problem. Thank You, Bob

I would not be so quick to find fault with your pro-106 yet. Check to see if your control channels in that system have been changed? If so, that would explain what you're experiencing.

Tune to that frequency and see if its a control channel. You can also probably scan the 500.0000 to 503.0000 Mhz range to find the CC's. Make sure you know your control channel frequency. Do you pick up all the sites or just one or what?
Bucks County Trunking System, Solebury, Pennsylvania - Scanner Frequencies
It stops on a channel when it receives a transmission but no audio. The conventional/analog channels like PA Turnpike Dist 4 comes in and I can hear the audio. The 2 trunked systems Philly and Bucks have no audio. However, when it stops on one of those channels I can hear lite static coming from the speaker and the volume is turned all the way up.

I downloaded everything from RR, then uploaded to my scanner. It was working just fine up until about a week ago. I have no idea what the problem is.

You may have to reenter the custom frequency table or you may have to have a new one. That is what tells the radios/scanner what frequency to trunk to when they key up. If you dont have the right one, what happens is that it will trunk off to the wrong frequency and since you are on the wrong frequency you wont hear anything.

Actually the frequencies with the Buck Co system is required to have been narrowbanded by the first of the year going from 25khz to 12.5khz or lower. Now im not sure about this but the spacing shows to be 25 and maybe it is 12.5 or lower now.

That would not explain the philadelphia system since it is 800mhz. You could be missing a control channel on that one.

OK does that mean the table has to be adjusted for Bucks? The Philly system has 4 Primary Control Channels and 1 alternate control channel. I have all 5 programmed in scanner. I don't know of any other control channels/frequencies or where to find out if a control channel was added. Any suggestions?

Im guessing you will have to have a new table for bucks, dont really know. I dont know how to make one.

Are you talking about this phily system Philadelphia Trunking System, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - Scanner Frequencies
Zone 1 doesnt show a 3rd control channel or alternate.

Press tune and type in each and every frequency and press enter. If it is a control channel you will have some information come on the screen. Write down the frequency and the information exactly as you see it and post it.

Well now I see those frequencies are supposed to be rebanded on the Phily system.
Now
From To Description
851 861 Public Safety, Business/Industrial, SMR, ESMR (Nextel) Shared
861 866 ESMR Exclusive
866 869 Public Safety Exclusive

Rebanding
From To Description
851 854 Public Safety and Critical Infastructure Exclusive
854 862 Public Safety, Business/Industrial, SMR Shared
862 869 ESMR (Nextel) Exclusive

I dont know when the deadline is or was but they are going to have to change frequencies sooner or later so they may not be using it or changing over or something.

Right, there's two primary control channels in Zone 1 and two primary control channels in Zone 2 with zone 2 having 1 alternate.

Those frequencies you gave are for Project 25 or P25. They have been testing it, however they are not using it yet. The Project 25 for Philly can be downloaded from RR. Philly is still using MOT 800/900. I don't know when they are supposed to switch over. I would guess sometime this year.

I still hear Philly just fine. I downloaded the system via WIN500 using the RR database.

Philly is bringing a new system online slowly but the old one they have had for years is still up and running.

WIN500 sees the RR database like this, under "system" Philadelphia county there is

"Philadelphia" this is the old/current system

"Philadelphia (Project 25)" this will be the new system which eventually could be a TDMA modulation system. If/when that happens most scanners will not be able to monitor it, currently only a PSR800 could.

I have a RS Pro-197, which is the desktop/Mobile version of your Pro 106

Ok that explains it then. I searched for a 800mhz reband deadline and couldnt find anything so not sure when it is or was. Evidently it is still in the future sometime.

As for the Buck Co system, do the same thing for it. Go through those 500mhz frequencies in the RR database until you find the CC and write it down and make sure it is the frequency listed in the database. You may be able to try the listed CC and AC first, which may be quicker. You may also be able to type in the voice channels and hear someone talk every now and then with no response. But make sure the CC is the same one you have programmed in.
