Although the database at Radio Reference is where the info for the updates is sourced from, Radio Reference does not handle the database updating process for those scanners.

Originally, the updates for the GRE line of database scanners and their Radio Shack cousins were both handled by GRE.

Currently, the updates for the Whistler and Radio Shack scanners are being handled by Whistler.

For a description, and some history of the process, check these 3 links:

Thank you, my friend. If it comes down to it; I will just buy a new Uniden or a new Whistler. I just needed some sort of justification to offer my new girlfriend; when I have to drop 5 bills. And; hell, I'm 61! Go figure. Thanks for the links. 73's my good man.

Default CPU Firmware Update 2.9 for the PRO-651/PRO-652

I didn't see it posted in this "Sticky" thread so I figured I would post the direct link to the CPU Firmware Update 2.9 for the PRO-651/PRO-652: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/09...70172455106556

Also for further information/explanation regarding installing the update see this thread here at RR: http://forums.radioreference.com/rad...-released.html

I am 61 also. Tell your girlfriend that you need to put down 10 bills, then buy one for me ! Thanks.
