I use my Realistic Pro 2020 (late 70's base unit), same capabilities as yours, in a limit search from 30.00 Mhz to 50.00 Mhz. I use my Pro 94 (similar handheld), in a limit search from 138.000 Mhz. to 144.000 Mhz. I leave them running 24 / 7, that way I don't even have to worry about putting any stress on the old keypads. For me, it makes the most sensible use of their capabilities. Some love to use them for aircraft, they work great. Mine just constantly monitor old v.h.f. Take care

Pro-42 is a great scanner to use at airshows. Gets military and civilian (ie UHF as well as VHF) aero really well. I keep mine exclusively for that.
