Took batteries out and stored scanner for 3 months in plastic bag.

Worked fine when packed away.

After 3 months..scanner won't work..it runs thru the initialization and then stalls on a page displaying all the icons..Does not respond to any keys..must pull batteries to turn off.

Trying new batteries/running on as power supply makes no difference.

Removed and cleaned as card..no change.

Strange that problem occurred after careful story g for 3 minths.

Any suggestions re..cause/cure

Who is a good repair facility..good= fast competent service.

Thanks....

Not sure if it is possible at this point (being a Radio Shack) but I'd probably try reflashing the CPU and DSP firmware and perhaps a new SD card.

If all else fails, your best bet might be to contact Whistler for repair and other support.

There may have been some residual moisture left behind that found it's way into the scanner. Remove the batteries, leave the battery cover off, and try burying it in rice for a few days. Next time, I'd probably make sure the scanner had some ventilation, and/or, package it with a silica gel packet to absorb moisture.

Oh, and welcome to the forum!
