Pro-668: Hijacked W1080

I have a Pro-668 that I want to remove the hijacked W1080. Can I revert back to the old Pro-668 firmware so I can save some money on getting the Whistler update?

If it is "bricked" then no, you can't do anything about it, you will have to pay Whistler the extra $$$ to have it corrected. If not, they do not charge any extra to upgrade, it's just the basic fee. It may come back tagged as "hacked" but it will be a fully functional WS-1080 and there's no extra charge. Either way, you're pretty much stuck with sending it in and paying the fee. Still, it's a worthwhile investment...my 668 was deaf as a post with the factory firmware, getting it updated really brought it to life.

i paid the $89.99 for my HACKED PSR-800 only taken a week for them to do the up grade worth the money.

Thanks for info. The 668 is not bricked and I just got one back from Whistler with their update and I don't see much difference. I did pay $89.99 for the update.

better to pay the $89.99 than buying another scanner i use my PSR-800 as my mobile scanner with my other Motorola Radios
