2055 scanner dead

hi all

I have an old scanner pro 2055 great scanner but it died on me no power and when i turn the knob i hear no click sound i have changed the power supply but still dead is it worth to have it fixed and where do u go to service it.

could it be

the knob?
can you (safely) jump the switch part ?
i don't have that one but i have seen some switches break or lose the cam part of the switch.

yes when u turn the knob that's how you power it on but i don't hear the clicking noise no power and thank you both for the information

i am not THAT familiar with the radio.
but, switches usually have 5 connections to them.
3 are for the volume
2 are for the power to go through it.
they are usually at the rear of the switch and make or break the connection.
so if you jump then the radio would turn on.

if you look at the picture(not for your radio) you will see the brown cam that hits a little pole to make the connection across the two connections and makke the click sound the three on the bottom are for volume.
