I was wondering I was taking a look at the railroad listing in the New York database and noticed that there are PL tones of 123.0 for all of the channels, I thought just the following frequencies were the only ones that used a PL tone.

Channel 4 (A) – 160.410* (AAR Channel 20)
Harlem/Hudson MOW, 3rd Rail Dept, Structures Dept.

Channel 5 – 161.160* (AAR Channel 70)
New Haven Line MOW/ Power Dept, GCT Station Master’s Office, Signal Control Desk.

MTA PD Channel 1 (Disp) – 161.220* (AAR Channel 74)
MTA PD Channel 2 (Car/ Car) – 160.560* (AAR Channel 30)

Here is what the database has;

Frequency Type Tone Description Mode Tag
161.07000 BM 123.0 PL CSX Poughkeepsie - Albany FM Railroad
161.16000 BM 123.0 PL Grand Central Terminal SMO FM Railroad
161.28000 BM 123.0 PL Harlem Division RTC FM Railroad
160.95000 BM 123.0 PL Hudson Division RTC FM Railroad
160.77000 BM 123.0 PL Local Talk-Around (CSQ on mobiles) FMN Railroad
160.54500 BM 123.0 PL New Haven Division RTC FM Railroad
160.41000 BM 123.0 PL New Haven Maintenance of Way (CSQ on mobiles) FM Railroad
160.16000 BM 123.0 PL New Haven Maintenance of Way 2 (CSQ on mobiles) FM Railroad
160.80000 BM 123.0 PL NJT Port Jervis Division MNRR FM Railroad
161.40000 BM 123.0 PL NJT-Rail FM Railroad
160.33500 BM 123.0 PL Park Avenue Tunnel Emergency FM Railroad

Thanks.

Looks like somebody dumped their radio memory file, which included the default PL setting.

All over the map.
MNCW New Haven MOW does have a tone, but I know it's not 123.0Hz. The others are all CSQ. Metro-North motive power's radios include a digital ID burst at the end of TX however.
