If your 125AT seems to have a 'hissing' sound with a strong transmission please set it to 6.25khz. 12.5khz is to wide. In SDR#, HDSDR, SDRuno, etc set your bandwidth to 6.25khz and maybe even narrow the audio bandpass a bit according to your liking.

Quote from a ##rtlsdr user on IRC Frenode (user names omitted)

"-sounds much better in HDSDR setting it to 6.25khz bandwidth. 12.5khz is too wide making 6.25khz sound weak.
--yeah when you're wider than the signal and the strength is not high, static will enter on either side of the signal
--like if you're running a 25 KHz wide RX and you're tuned to a 12.5 KHz signal, there is 6.25 KHz on either side that does not have a signal in it, if you lose the FM capture effect you've got 2x 6.25 KHz wide static coming in on either side of your 12.5 KHz signal
--I've actually been changing out IF filters in some old BC350A here lately to try and help
newer allocations can be on splinter frequencies which the older scanners will not have a step to take, but older systems kept their spacing, just went narrow and those seem to get some benefit"
