Amtrak Michigan Line

I'm using a Uniden Bearcat BC125AT, and I have the Amtrak Michigan Line programmed into it. Although the AML Train Director comes through clear as day, all the way from Chicago, I have difficulty hearing the train crews, even though they're a quarter-mile away. I thought it might be the frequency because there are two on file (CHI-KAL and KAL-DET), but I'm just not sure.

Is there anything I can do on my end to try to get better clarity?
