I'm trying to use Pro Scan and when I select a com port the only comport available is 3. And get "No Response" I have done the following.

1. Used Serial to USB and get an error message code 10 and other codes that it does not work.

2. I tried using the front port. Used the wire it came with and it brought up Windows Device BCD536HP serial port error message asking me to install the driver.

3. I tried downloading Up man's drivers I unzipped it and there is nothing in the folder to use for the driver. I have Windows Vista.

What step am I'm missing? The scanner and the computer is not recognizing the comport and giving me all these errors. I have screen shots of each error.

What should the Comport be set to? It's set to 3 but it says "No Response"

Look at post #5

Went to # 5 zipped it and there is nothing to be installed. There must be a dead link because there are 2 things in the unzipped folder and neither are for downloading

There is no installer. You need to tell Windows to look for the driver.

(images for illustration purposes only. Your file/location/name will be different)

Unzip the files into a folder.

In Device Manager highlight your device, choose Update Driver Software

Choose Browse my computer for driver software

Then browse to the temp folder your files are in (NOT the .ZIP file)

Windows will install the updated driver. You may need to restart your computer.

That image shows your port is COM6. Right click choose properties 2nd tab is Port Settings. Set the Baud rate to 115200. Save, and in ProScan Com Port settings, choose Auto Detect. It should now find your scanner. Make sure when you plug the cable into the scanner to choose Serial mode and not Mass Storage mode.

Still says "No response when I hit auto detect and clicked on Com 6.

This is what I got

That is not the Uniden driver so it will not work, Did you plug the cable in to the scanner front port and press "." for Serial Port mode? Once that is done, go back to the Device Manager.
