Thanks for all of your hard work on this Nick!

Even though I don't have one of the type of scanners this software is made for I
still appreciate anyone taking the time to code new software.

Thanks Marshall

To be honest I enjoy the challenge as it keeps my aging brain engaged. Many have asked why I don't sell as they think I could make a nice load of money as they believe mine is better than the competition and my support better :) ....... however I find that by not selling I get the enjoyment and most importantly the freedom whilst still having happy customers.

I'm currently working on a new program for the Alinco DX-R8 which is proving to be just as much fun especially as once again I'm trying to do things that others have not already done. Sadly the Alinco programming interface is rather lacking in certain areas and despite contact with Alinco Japan (Alinco US would not discuss) I haven't be able to entice them to put in one simple additional command that would solve a number of restrictive problems I'm encountering.

But hey, it is still fun (well most of the time) which I can enjoy in my retirement.

Thanks for your support. I'm pleased to be able to do new releases and bug fixes and that my work is well received.

One issue I'm having with my 125AT scanner (affects all models) is the battery charging. I run connected to the PC most of the time and I believe the long term charging of the Ni-Mh batteries is damaging them.

What I'm seeing is Battery Error messages which when I investigate further is showing the battery to have excessive voltage under no load but no power or voltage under load.

The 125 scanner battery charging system is too primitive in that it charges for a fixed time and every time the PC is turned on or rebooted a new N hour charging cycle is started. Net effect is that the batteries are on charge for up to 15 Hours a day.

As Scan125 monitors battery voltage I'm toying with the idea of automatically changing the charge time depending on actually battery voltage. My big reservation in to this is that if I get the algorithm wrong then people could be off to an event without fully charged batteries which will make me very unpopular :)

I charge externally. You could just flick the switch in the battery compartment to Alk not NiMh?
